Position Overview

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you will provide essential care and support to individuals in various healthcare settings, including long-term care facilities, retirement homes, hospitals, and private residences. Your role will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients by meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
• Support meal preparation and feeding as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical or mental health to the supervising nurse or care team.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Ensure clients' dignity, comfort, and privacy are respected at all times.
• Adhere to care plans and agency policies to provide consistent, high-quality care.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program or equivalent certification.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to client well-being.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, transferring, and prolonged standing.
